Kalabux is a game developed and operated by Jolly Good Apps ("we", "us", "our"). These terms set out the basis on which you may download and play Kalabux (the "game"). By installing or playing the game, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the game.

The short version: Kalabux is a free single-player game with no accounts. You may play it for your own personal enjoyment. The game and everything in it belong to us. It is provided as-is, it shows ads to help fund development, and we may update, change or discontinue it over time.

1. Your Licence to Play

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and play Kalabux on devices you own or control, for your own private, non-commercial entertainment. This licence lasts for as long as you comply with these terms.

2. What You May Not Do

When using Kalabux, you agree not to:

• copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source code of the game, except to the limited extent the law permits despite this restriction;
• redistribute, sell, rent, sub-licence or otherwise commercially exploit the game or any part of it;
• remove, obscure or alter any copyright, trademark or other proprietary notices;
• use cheats, automation, modified clients or exploits to interfere with the game or its intended operation, or attempt to disrupt the servers we use to run it;
• use the game in any way that is unlawful, or that infringes anyone else's rights.

3. Ownership

Kalabux, including its code, artwork, characters (such as Old Silas), music, sound, text and design, is owned by Jolly Good Apps and is protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. Nothing in these terms transfers any ownership to you — you receive only the limited licence to play described above.

4. Your Game Progress

Kalabux has no accounts. Your progress — your factory, coins, upgrades and research — is saved locally on your device. This means it is your responsibility: uninstalling the game, clearing its data, or changing device will remove or leave behind that progress, and we cannot restore or transfer it. Our handling of data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

5. Advertising

Kalabux shows advertisements through Google AdMob to help fund the game's development, including optional rewarded ads you can choose to watch in exchange for an in-game benefit. Ads are supplied by Google and its partners; we are not responsible for the content of third-party ads or for any websites or offers they lead to. How advertising data is handled is explained in our Privacy Policy.

6. In-App Purchases

The current version of Kalabux contains no in-app purchases. We may add optional purchases (for example, in-game currency or the removal of ads) in a future version. If we do, any such purchase will be handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store under their own terms, virtual items will have no real-world monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash, and refunds will be governed by the relevant store's policies. We will make the terms of any purchase clear before you buy.

7. Updates & Availability

We may update, change, suspend or discontinue Kalabux, or any of its features, at any time — for example to add content, fix problems, or because it is no longer viable to keep running. We may also release updates you need to install to keep playing. We do not guarantee that the game will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free.

8. Age

Because the game shows ads that rely on an advertising identifier, Kalabux is intended for players aged 13 or over. By playing, you confirm you are old enough to do so under the law of your country, or that a parent or guardian who agrees to these terms is supervising your use.

9. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

Kalabux is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the game will meet your requirements or be free of faults.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Jolly Good Apps will not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss of game progress, arising from your use of or inability to use the game. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you have statutory rights that these terms do not affect.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction — except that, if you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you retain the benefit of any mandatory protections and the right to bring proceedings under the law of your country of residence.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Kalabux after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
